I started practicing yoga in 2012 seeking nothing more than a physical workout. But then I noticed how yoga weaved in strength, flexibility and balance in to my life. I had no idea it would take me on a soul-searching journey that would connect me with something so much deeper than just my physical body. Yoga opened up a world of stillness, happiness and peace I had never known previously.
Well folks, I was hooked. I found my mat as an outlet for myself on my lunch break. This one hour away from my desk opened me up to the opportunity to remember my breath. My mat gave me space to let go and it was a place to hang up my emotions, stress and the resentment I carried with me at that time of my life. I immediately signed up for my 200 hour yoga teacher training in Mississauga under Diana Lockett and Daniel Horgan. My practice, my yoga teacher training, my mat and the lessons the universe was sending my way, taught me how to surrender to the moment and to accept the crazy flow of life. I started to recognize that each moment was leading me to the next. I found myself registering for an additional 20-hour certification in Yin/Yang with Erin Aquin and De La Sol in Hamilton. I also just recently finished an additional 300-hour training again with Diana Lockett. I love teaching and I offer many classes per week for all levels. My classes are fluid as I focus on connecting your breath and movement. I have a strong focus on alignment and awakening your heart with the tools you need to listen to your body. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways and as a teacher I hope to inspire you to have a deep connection with yourself while integrating conscious breath with strong movements, to leave you feeling empowered and restored. |
Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.
I believe that life is a series of events preparing us for the next moment. I trust that the universe and a bigger energy are guiding me. I say this because everything started to feel good for once, I felt like I actually had a plan, a goal and a dream and for the first time in a long time I started to feel like I belonged. Yoga gave me a sense of community and acceptance and this felt good. It made life feel steady. Yoga has opened me to world of heart opening stillness, with vibrant energy, people, culture and travel. This is something I am forever grateful for. I wish I had found yoga so much sooner. The dedication to my asana and meditation practice has given me the most incredible strength spiritually. Yoga has changed my life.
I teach 15+ classes per week and host the creative Make a Mala workshops all over he GTA. My recent travels to India have inspired me to partner with some really incredible teachers to create and hosts Yoga and Culture Retreats to India. Cultivating these retreats has really allowed me to share my love and passion for India, yoga and meditation simultaneously. India cracked my heart open in 2016 after a tearful meditation. So I packed my bags, trusted my heart and set out on a life changing journey that has left me transformed forever. I am grateful to have you as part of my journey! Namaste, Jackee XO |
"The great moments of your life won't necessarily be the things you do, they'll also be the things that happen to you. Now, I'm not saying you can't take action to affect the outcome of your life. You have to take action, and you will. But never forget that on any day you can step out the front door and your whole life can change forever. You see, the universe has a plan, kids. And that plan is always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings and it starts to rain. It's a scary thought, but it's also kind of wonderful. All these little parts of the machine constantly working, making sure that you end up exactly where you're supposed to be, exactly when you're supposed to be there. The right place at the right time."
